Our History

In 1986, a group of visionary Thai toy entrepreneurs recognized the potential of their industry and sought to elevate it to the global stage. With support from the Department of Foreign Trade Relations (now the Department of International Trade Promotion – DITP), they established the “Toy Club of Thailand.” This club served as a crucial bridge between local manufacturers and international markets, fostering collaboration and growth.

As the industry flourished, the club evolved. In 1989, it was officially registered as the “Thai Toy Industry Association,” expanding its network and strengthening its commitment to enhancing product standards, refining production processes, and boosting Thailand’s competitiveness globally.

Recognizing the broader scope of the industry, the association underwent a significant transformation in 2019. It expanded its focus to include products for young children and rebranded as the “Thai Toy and Children Product Trade Association,” reflecting its comprehensive mission to support both toys and children’s products.

Throughout its journey, the association has remained steadfast in its belief that toys are more than just playthings—they are foundational tools that shape the future. Understanding that play is integral to a child’s development, the association has consistently engaged in social initiatives to ensure all children have access to safe and beneficial toys.

Initiatives such as supporting the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Toy Libraries and donating toys to underprivileged communities exemplify the association’s dedication to societal well-being. These efforts aim to provide every Thai child with the opportunity to learn and grow through play, regardless of their circumstances.

From its modest inception to becoming a central figure in Thailand’s toy industry, the Thai Toy and Children’s Products Trade Association continues to champion the interests of businesses and the developmental needs of children. It remains committed to driving standards, fostering innovation, and ensuring that the joy and benefits of quality toys reach every corner of society.
